St. Nicholas Parade - Toul

Animaux acceptés

Every winter, Toul is decked out in lights to host the traditional Saint Nicholas parade, which kicks off the end-of-year festivities! Young and old alike gather in the streets of the historic center to celebrate the patron saint of the people of Lorraine during a colorful parade. Decorated floats, lively music, marching bands, and magical characters bring the city to life in a warm and festive atmosphere. Saint Nicholas, accompanied by the fearsome Père Fouettard, parades through the crowd, sharing candy, laughter, and wonder. The procession winds through the main streets of downtown (from Rue Thiers to Rue Michâtel, passing through Place des Trois-Évêchés), drawing the crowd into a joyful and friendly atmosphere. The parade concludes on the plaza in front of Saint-Étienne Cathedral, where the mayor symbolically hands over the keys to the city to Saint Nicholas before a fireworks display lights up the sky over Toul. A moment of joy and togetherness that sets the heart of Toul racing and keeps alive, year after year, the most beautiful of Lorraine’s traditions.
