Through this guided tour, explore the world of iron and fire in the steelworks of Pompey. The steel factory was built in 1872 and closed in 1986. Though they are no longer in use, the steelworks left their mark on the landscape, and not just in Lorraine, as in 1888 they gave rise to the most famous building in France: the Eiffel Tower.
As you explore the site of the former factory, now the Eiffel Energie park, home to 242 innovative businesses, you’ll discover how the Pompey steelworks transformed the town and the lives of thousands of men and women.
It is recommended that you wear walking shoes for a more comfortable tour.
