PALAIS DES DUCS DE LORRAINE – MUSÉE LORRAIN

Accueil en anglais Animaux acceptés

This museum in the heart of Nancy Old Town occupies the former Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine and the Franciscan church. It gives an insight into the remarkable artistic and cultural life of the region. Archaeological and mediaeval collections are as dazzling as the canvases by Georges de La Tour and the engravings by Jacques Callot. The convent next to the Franciscan Church, the burial place of the princes of the Lorraine family, contains collections of popular art and traditions that serve as reminders of country life in Lorraine in the 19th century. Although a vast restoration project is currently underway, the museum remains open to the public. As part of the renovation project of the Lorraine Museum, "The Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine", the hall of the permanent exhibition is closed . Only the Franciscan Church can be visited.
