THE FORT OF VILLEY-LE-SEC
Built in the aftermath of the 1870 war, the Fort of Villey-le-Sec comes from the "Séré-de-Rivières" defense system. This fort has the unique feature of having completely surrounded the houses of the village by an enclosure, thus making Villey-le-Sec the only fortified village in France at the end of the 19th century. The visit will make you discover the north battery and the reduced in a green setting with a breathtaking view of the Côtes de Toul and the Woévre. Your journey will be enhanced by two rides in a 0.60 track train on a circuit of more than 1500 meters. Inside the fort, you will discover the impressive masonry and the magnificent barracks with perfectly fitted stones.
Individual visits:
- from May 1 to September 30: every Sunday and public holiday at 3 p.m.
- July 14 to August 15: daily at 3 p.m.
